A Look Back on 2011
In my wildest dreams, I never would have thought I'd have a
summer where I played 150 shows in seven states. But that's
exactly what happened between June and August of 2011. The
Mike Schneider Band played BecksterFest, our first event
ever in Central Iowa, and for Pint Size Polkas I visited
libraries in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota,
Missouri, and Wisconsin. In November, I was inducted into
the Wisconsin Polka Hall of Fame as one of two Honor Roll
award recipients. The year 2011 truly was one for the record
books!
Looking Ahead to 2012
Next year is already shaping up to be another winner,
including our second appearance in Dubuque since 2008 for
their Octoberfest. Return visits to St. Aloysius, St. Rita's
in West Allis, Triglav Park, May Ball in Jefferson, and the
Ozaukee County Fair are also in the works. Plus, we'll be at
several new events, including St. Jerome Parish in
Oconomowoc for their Polka Mass and festival in June. Add to
that more than 100 library and fair performances currently
scheduled in nine states, including six days at the Missouri
State Fair in August, and 2012 promises to be another busy
year!
Both Hands Project
A big thank you is in order for everyone who helped support
a project Heather and I worked on this fall to raise money
for orphans while helping Rose Cook, a widow from our
Parish, with her house. We personally raised more than
$1,000 for the worthy cause! If you haven't yet donated but
would like to do so, please make your check payable to
Lifesong for Orphans and send it directly to Mike and
Heather Schneider, P.O. Box 342623, Milwaukee, WI 53234.
We'll pass your donation along with the next batch of checks
we send in. For more information about Both Hands and the
amazing work the foundation is doing for widows and orphans
in communities across the United States, please visit

Thank you!
Evan Schneider
Our baby boy arrived nine days overdue on November 17, 2011
just after 11:00 PM. He weighed nine pounds, four ounces.
His birth was challenging to say the least, but thankfully
he and Heather are both doing well now. Several people have
asked how Garrett and Kelby are adjusting to Evan, and
despite some initial reservations expressed by Garrett prior
to their first meeting, both he and Kelby have been very
welcoming of their new baby brother and are excited to spend
time with him. We're hoping this is a trend that continues
well into the future!

Thanks again for helping make
2011 the great year that it was!
