From the Official Wisconsin Polka Introduction Letter -- How often is it that music becomes the collaboration of two people nearly 70 years and 100 miles apart? What's more, the elder of the pair hadn't even expressed an interest in writing music until well into his ninth decade when the words for a new song came to him in a dream. In need of someone to put his lyrics to music, Victor Paulson of Monroe discovered Mike Schneider, an award-winning 25-year-old bandleader and songwriter from Milwaukee.
Together, Vic and Mike have written what is sure to become one of the state's favorite polkas: The Wisconsin Polka. Think of it as a musical billboard for our favorite pastimes as Wisconsinites. Perhaps best of all, it is available as a free download right here at the official website of the Mike Schneider Band -- just download it using one of the links below.
