| PINT SIZE POLKAS
I guess in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, beggars still
can't be choosers, so I am very grateful for the 60 or so
in-person Pint Size Polkas shows I did this past summer,
plus another handful of virtual shows. I got to do a bit of
travelling, including my first multi-day visits for
libraries in Kansas and Wyoming, and even had each of my
kids out on at least one short trip.

Looking ahead to 2022, I'm expecting to do a few more shows
than last summer, and am excited to already have return
trips booked to libraries in Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota,
and New Mexico. It looks like I’ll even be heading back down
to Georgia! Here's hoping COVID continues to recede and the
world can return to normal again in 2022!

THE MIKE SCHNEIDER BANDIf it was a down year for Pint Size Polkas, was it an up
year for the Mike Schneider Band? When it came to the
September half of Oktoberfest season, and even halfway into
October, yes it was! I had more shows during all seven days
of the week this year than during almost any other I can
remember. People were looking for reasons to hold or
participate in events again. We did a wedding in Merrimac in
September where my banjo player Jim Thull got a standing
ovation for yodeling, something he's done at every gig he's
ever played with me. At a corporate party in La Crosse in
October, we played our last song of the night and the crowd
refused to let us leave without playing one more. That never
happens at a corporate party! Hopefully all the good will
carries into 2022 and beyond! By the way, I hope you like
the Old German Beer Hall, because I will be there a lot next
year. Thanks very much to them for keeping me busy in these
                    otherwise relatively quiet times!
